Gymnastics as the foundation of movement, gymnastics as the foundation of all sports, gymnastics as a lifelong sport, gymnastics as a way of life.
An event free from competitive pressure, battles for points, rankings, and medals. Just the joy of movement, the joy of a successful performance, and the joy of sharing positive energy with the audience—energy that immediately flows back to the performers. During the performances, gymnastics is presented in the forms as it is understood and felt by the gymnasts and groups themselves. For some, it is basic aesthetic movement with music, where grace takes center stage; for others, it is apparatus work—whether on traditional equipment or apparatus specially created for this occasion—as well as the creative use of props. And, of course, the fusion of gymnastics and dance, and the combination of different gymnastics disciplines into a single composition.
The Municipal Sports Hall in Trnava will host performers, female and male gymnasts of all ages, performance levels, genders, races, and abilities. Gymnastics is for everyone, without exception.
30 Years of Tradition
The Festival of Movement Compositions is writing a remarkable chapter in its history. The 30th edition of this unique event confirms that movement, music, and collective creation have a strong and lasting tradition in Slovakia. For three decades, the festival has brought together generations of children, youth, and adults who tell their stories through movement.
Since its beginnings, the festival has been a place where creativity, joy of movement, and team spirit meet. Over 30 years, the festival has welcomed around 15,000 performers from nearly 10 countries around the world. Across all age categories—from the youngest 3–4-year-olds to the oldest 85-year-olds—female and male gymnasts have presented more than 1,000 different compositions.
Movement compositions are more than just choreographies—they are expressions of emotions, ideas, and shared energy that every spectator can feel on stage. It is precisely this atmosphere that makes the festival exceptional and unmistakable.
An Exceptional Gala Show
The jubilee edition will also feature a ceremonial Gala Show, distinguished by musical accompaniment featuring songs by Mária Čírová. The theme of the Gala Show is “The Journey”, and it consists of several parts, for example: every journey begins with a first step; the journey itself is your goal; a journey can be straight or winding, but it must always move us forward, …
The 30th edition is an ideal opportunity not only for clubs from Slovakia but also from abroad to present their work, inspire others, and become part of the history of a festival that has been shaping movement culture in Slovakia for 30 years. Together, let us create an edition that will be remembered for a long time. The program and atmosphere will once again be unforgettable—just as we are accustomed to at this event.
